I’m running two events in the northeast called MVVM DevReady coming up this month.

The first one is in Philly (Malvern actually) and will run on Saturday the 19th of March.  The second is the following Monday, the 21st, in the NYC Microsoft office.

Both events are FREE of charge but registration is limited and is quickly filling up.  We just put up the registration site yesterday and are more than half full already.

I will be giving the first three sessions, with the local DE giving the fourth, and our sponsor providing the last session of the day. These events could not have been possible if not for our sponsor, Developer Express.  They are not only covering event expenses but are flying out one of their chief evangelists, Seth Juarez, to present the session personally.

The registration sites are:

3/19/2011 - Philly: http://devready-estw.eventbrite.com/

3/21/2011 - NYC: http://devreadynyc.eventbrite.com/

Get your development skills ready for MVVM (Model View View Model Design Pattern) and build some exciting applications for WPF, Silverlight or Windows Phone. In this all day event you will learn everything you need to know to get start with MVVM. We will start with the basics and end with some more advance topics.

Miguel that was a great talk. I have been very fuzzy w/ the whole MVVM thing and you covered it very nicely. Best of all I like the way you give your presentations. It was very fun, entertaining and informative. Learned lots of techniques I can start using on Monday! Hope to see more I'd be the first to get in line. Gonna be sure to check out the Sponsors product and show them some love for funding the event!

Thanks,
Ray

NY your gonna love it!

Hi Miguel,

Super job bringing us Winforms guys into the WPF world with MVVM. Definitely looking forward to applying some of the pearls that I got at the event yesterday!

Really nice event. I hope to see these DevReady events continue. I blogged about the event here http://bejabbers2.blogspot.com/2011/03/inaugural-devready-event-on-mvvm.html

Miguel,

Thanks again to you and all the speakers for putting together such an informative event. I liked that many key MVVM concepts were covered in one place with a real world perspective and am looking forward to seeing more DevReady events on other topics.

Fantastic seminar! I'm really glad I went. I've done some WPF but was not completely comfortable with binding and have never done MVVM. This helped a lot. Your presentations were full of details, yet easy to follow and, as promised, I had my "moment of clarity".

Thanks Miguel!

Miguel,

Just wanted to comment on the great set of talks you gave at the Philly DevReady event. Being new to WPF and MVVM, I was hoping to come away with a better understanding of the technology and of the pattern. I am happy to say that your presentations gave me both. Having most of my experience in web development, you really helped me to see that XAML is not unlike HTML and something that I could really get into and not have as severe of a learning curve as I thought. As far as MVVM, you helped me understand what the pattern is all about and how powerful it can be. I am looking forward to implementing it in future projects. Keep up the great work and I am looking forward to the next opportunity that I have to attend one of your presentations.

Thanks,
